On Thursday, we walked to the post office to deliver our letters to Santa It was great to get outside and enjoy the outdoors together This week, we also started looking at symmetry. We designed our own symmetrical pictures and looked for symmetry around the classroom Students have been enjoying bringing in special items to show and share. A common theme this month, has been sharing something that belonged to our Dad's when they were younger. On Friday afternoon, students have catch-up time to finish any incomplete activities. Once finished, they have some free choice time to engage in any activity around the classroom.
This week some students chose to work at our new whiteboard table, creating fun pictures and images; some enjoyed organizing blocks by colour and shape; and others wrote out our classroom rules and enjoyed playing the role of the teacher with their peers. This week, students participated in number line activities. The students were given the numbers 1-100 and had to line up according to the called out task We lined up by 1s, 2s and 5s (forward and backward) To conclude our states of matter unit in science, students made Oobleck. We made predictions and tested if items sank or float. This week we also participated in 'Operation Tiny Troops' Students made Christmas cards with friendly messages and pictures to send to troops overseas Students have been enjoying their time at recess building forts
